SNIPEF thanks Glasgow Clyde College (GCC) for their support. GCC is one of Scotland's largest Further Education providers, with over 500 full-time and part-time courses across its three campuses at Anniesland, Cardonald and Langside.GCC has excellent partnerships that help prepare students for the future, whether going on to further study at university or directly to the workplace.
The renewable competition will comprise theory, design and practical elements, allowing the apprentices to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in this increasingly important technology area.
The use of renewable technologies will become an ever more critical component of the plumbing and heating industry over the coming decade, particularly with Scottish and UK Government commitments toward using heat pumps and district heating systems and decommissioning fossil-based or energy-intensive heating technologies. Our plumbing and heat engineers, today and in the near future, will need to be fully versed in the required technical skills and knowledge to meet these national commitments.
The renewable competition will be staged alongside the two existing Lead and Copper competitions on Friday, 16 June, at Glasgow Clyde College.
Please note that the candidate must be in the 3rd year of their apprenticeship.
