Why use SNIPEF Training Services
SNIPEF was the first UK construction trade association to set up its own dedicated managing agency in 1983. Over these 40 years, SNIPEF Training Services has supported thousands of apprentices to complete their training to become qualified plumbers.
The only industry-approved training programme for plumbing apprenticeships in Scotland is the SNIJIB Modern Apprenticeship in Plumbing and Heating programme. This programme is managed by SNIPEF Training Services Ltd, the plumbing industry's training provider. The terms and conditions of the programme aim to regulate the entry, conditions of service, training and education of apprentices in the plumbing industry and ensure that apprentices are trained to the standards set by the SNIJIB and the National Occupational Standards (NOS).
In addition to our years of experience, the benefits of using SNIPEF Training Services include:
- Costs – We will meet the total cost of the college/training centre training programme (subject to available funding from Skills Development Scotland (SDS)).
- Financial incentive – We provide a grant to eligible businesses at the end of their apprentice’s fourth year (depending on achievement and available funding from SDS).
- Monitoring – We provide a dedicated Regional Training Officer to monitor your apprentice's progress and provide support to both the apprentice and you, their employer.
- Industry links – We have excellent relationships with leading merchants and manufacturers.
