Who we are - SNIPEF

Who we are

The Scottish and Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers’ Federation (SNIPEF) is the principal trade association for plumbing and heating businesses based in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Since 1923, we have represented the best interests of the plumbing and heating industry, from sole traders to large-scale businesses. We also manage the training of plumbing apprentices, ensuring a skilled workforce in the future.

Supporting our members

We support members to run successful plumbing and heating businesses in a competitive and changing market. We uphold standards of professional plumbing and work with the government, industry bodies and other stakeholders to ensure members are represented on industry issues.

Representing more than 750 member firms employing over 5,000 operatives

SNIPEF membership is a credible way for contractors to separate themselves from rogue traders. It provides reassurance to consumers that they are hiring a qualified professional and will receive a high standard of work.

Our objectives

  • Promote professional plumbing and high standards across the industry.
  • Support members to run professional and profitable businesses.
  • Provide quality assurance to consumers.
  • Ensure the industry has a skilled and qualified workforce.
