Wage rates and allowances increase from 19 August 2024
August 2, 2024
Following an agreement reached in February 2024 by SNIPEF representatives on the Scottish & Northern Ireland Joint Industry Board (SNIJIB), a 4% increase in wage rates and allowances is set to take effect from Monday, 19 August 2024.
The SNIJIB, an independent body that establishes standards for employment, welfare, grading, and apprentice training in the plumbing and heating profession , includes members nominated by SNIPEF and Unite the Union.
This agreement, essential for maintaining fair compensation within the profession, will be detailed in the “Graded Rates of Wages and Allowances Agreement 2024-2025,” available here . Employers must review this document to understand the forthcoming changes.
As the new wage rates prepare to roll out, it is important for both employers and employees to be acquainted with the adjustments to ensure compliance and alignment with the updated industry standards, thereby supporting a robust and equitable work environment.
