As part of SNIPEF’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency within the plumbing and heating profession, we are contacting all members to gauge their interest in participating in the government's Energy Company Obligation (ECO4) scheme.
What is ECO4?
The ECO4 scheme represents a significant advancement in the UK's efforts to enhance home energy efficiency and address fuel poverty. With a budget of £4 billion extending to 2026, the scheme is designed to deliver energy efficiency and heating measures to homes across Great Britain, focusing on supporting households on the lowest incomes and improving the least efficient homes. Notably, the scheme prioritises properties rated energy efficiency band D-G, with specific targets for solid wall insulation and the replacement of inefficient heating systems.
Why get involved?
During recent discussions with Scottish Power, they expressed a keen interest in broadening the participation of SNIPEF Members in the ECO4 scheme, acknowledging the high standards of workmanship our members consistently deliver. While many of our Members are already operating within the scheme, expanding our engagement will not only align with the shared goals of promoting energy efficiency and sustainability but also provide a number of commercial opportunities. We therefore encourage members who have not yet participated to seize this opportunity.
