OFTEC plays a leading role in raising standards within the heating industry, specialising in the off-grid sector in the UK and Ireland.

It operates a UKAS accredited competent persons registration scheme for more than 9,000 technicians who install, repair and service oil, solid fuel and renewable heating equipment as well as carrying out Part P electrical work. Technicians are also able to extend their registration to include MCS and PAS2030, which enable their customers to access government funding.

OFTEC’s trade association represents the interests of liquid fuel heating equipment manufacturers and works with government on decarbonisation and off-grid heating policy.

The overarching aim of OFTEC is to promote the highest professional standards across the industry – from the equipment available and the training courses heating technicians need, to the work OFTEC-registered technicians then carry out in homes and commercial premises.
