SNIPEF supports Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2021

February 26, 2021

SNIPEF is excited to announce that we will be supporting Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2021 from March 1st – 5th 2021.

Co-ordinated by Skills Development Scotland, #ScotAppWeek21 demonstrates the value apprenticeships bring to individuals, employers and the economy.

SNIPEF recognises that it has never been more important to show our support for apprenticeships, as in these challenging times, apprentices can play a vital role in supporting businesses and the economy now and for the future.

We will be featuring a #ThanksForTheChance success story with one of our Associate Members, Ross Dickinson from Kibosh and also “The Diary of a SNIPEF Apprentice” by Iain Winnard, one of our SNIPEF apprentices throughout the week, which documents his day-to-day experiences as a plumbing and heating apprentice, showing the variety of his job, which he says has never failed to impress him.

To learn more about the day to day life of a SNIPEF apprentice, follow Iain’s diary next week on our website.

SNIPEF will also be calling on both apprentices and employers to participate in SNIPEF’s Apprenticeship Week 2021 competition to showcase apprentice’s best work and be in with a chance to win a £25 Amazon voucher for the apprentice. The post with the most likes wins.

To enter, apprentices can upload a picture of their work, sharing with us why you enjoy being a plumbing and heating apprentice and also #SNIPEFapprentice.

Employers can also show off their apprentice’s best work, telling us why you are backing Scottish apprenticeships, the theme of this year’s Apprenticeship Week, by uploading a photo and include #mySNIPEFapprentice in your post.

Keep an eye on our social media channels for more information and don’t forget to use the hashtag #ScotAppWeek21 in all your posts.

Scottish Apprenticeships support the Young Person's Guarantee, introduced by Scottish Government to ensure everyone aged between 16 and 24 has the opportunity of work, education or training.

The week highlights the range of support available to employers to help them take on an apprentice and opportunities for individuals to progress through Foundation, Modern and Graduate Apprenticeships.

For businesses backing talent who can give someone the chance of an apprenticeship there's more support than ever before.

The Apprentice Employer Grant provides up to £5000 to recruit an apprentice, there’s additional funding to take on a redundant apprentice through Adopt an Apprentice and Pathway Apprenticeships are available for school leavers not in a job or education to gain work-based learning and qualifications in sectors with skills needs.
