Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Technical Advisor to join our successful team
As the principal trade association for plumbing and heating companies based in Scotland and Northern Ireland, we support our members to run successful businesses in a competitive and changing market, upholding standards of professional plumbing, while working with government, industry bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure members are represented on industry issues.
We are growing, and we are looking to add a technical advisor to our team.
The Role
You will provide technical support and engagement to SNIPEF, its members, and stakeholders. You will carry out auditing and inspection of plumbing businesses operating on SNIPEF schemes.
This role will require you to operate in an ‘on-site’ format – you will travel around Scotland and Northern Ireland on a regular basis. You must be able to plan and carry out schedules of work in an efficient manner. You will continually promote SNIPEF values of quality, professionalism, and standards to SNIPEF members, stakeholders, and the public.
Key Accountabilities
- Undertake technical inspections and audit work of members of the schemes operated by SNIPEF
- Report on the delivery of the audit programme on a regular basis
- Provide technical support to SNIPEF staff, SNIPEF members, and other individuals and organisations
- Contribution of technical material for SNIPEF publications on a regular basis
- Represent the technical interests of SNIPEF members
- Support training delivery to SNIPEF members when required
- Input to technical committees and working groups
- Development and promotion of schemes operated by SNIPEF
- Presenting to members and stakeholders
- Representing SNIPEF at external bodies and committees
- Attend regular internal meetings
Requirements
- Industry recognised plumber SVQ level 3 or above
- Hold current Driving License
- Certificate in Water Byelaws and Regulations
- Hold CSCS health and safety card
- Experience in supervision and inspection of works is desirable

- Full time (34.5 hours per week) employment with an option to be part-time
- Working week: Monday – Thursday 9-5pm, Friday 9-4.30pm
