From April 2022, the weekly lower earnings limit for National Insurance contributions increased from £120 to £123, as did the minimum Maternity and Paternity pay.
Employees on Maternity Leave can be eligible for 90% of their average weekly earnings for the first 6 weeks and then 33 weeks at £ 156.66 per week (or 90% of the average weekly earnings if this is less than £156.66 per week). If you have an eligible employee requesting Paternity Leave, they should receive the same £156.66 statutory payment for their time off (1 or 2 consecutive weeks).
