Green Home Festival – Sustainable Materials in Construction

15 August at 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Are there high-performing construction materials that are sustainable and can contribute to net zero carbon targets? Join us to hear from two manufacturers who are leading the way.

With a distinct lack of low-carbon materials to meet net zero carbon targets, and a fundamental need for sustainable building goods, these Scottish-based pioneers will share their journey in producing greener commodities.

In the first part of the show, Lucy Black from Kenoteq will introduce you to the world’s most sustainable low-carbon brick. Alasdair Campbell, owner & founder of the Isle of Skye Paint Company, will then explain how the colours from nature’s playground on Skye inspired him to produce natural sustainable paint, made with organic seaweed.

As well as finding out where the sustainable bricks and paints are used today, you’ll also get the chance to get your hands on both products and discuss with Lucy and Alasdair the challenges they’ve had to overcome.
