Apprenticeships
By embarking on an apprenticeship, you are choosing a dynamic and rewarding career that promises opportunities both on and off the tools.
The only industry recognised route for a plumbing apprenticeship in Scotland is the Modern Apprenticeship (MA) in Plumbing and Heating.
A plumbing apprenticeship provides the chance to gain a nationally recognised qualification while being paid. Over the course of your four-year apprenticeship, you will work to achieve the SVQ Level 3 in MES Domestic Plumbing through a mix of real-life learning with your employer and training in your college or training centre.

The Training Provider
SNIPEF Training Services, the training subsidiary of SNIPEF, is the managing agent and training provider for the Modern Apprenticeship in Plumbing and Heating in Scotland.
This means we:
- identify appropriate training courses at colleges and training centres across Scotland
- take care of the paperwork and any other admin
- look after funding arrangements
- support apprentices both on and off the job with our team of Regional Training Officers
- provide support and assistance to employers.
